Paraffin / Kerosene Lantern Globe Sizes.

Replacement glass dimensions for common Hurricane / Storm lanterns

Every manufacturer has their own supplier for the globes they fit to  their own lanterns. There will inevitably be variations but most modern lanterns have a “Short” profile globe and these five sizes are the most common.

As many of these globes were designed in the days when Imperial measurements were common I will give those approximate dimensions first ( Which will please our American cousins ) but for precision, and the rest of the world,  I will include the Metric sizes as well. The measurements are made from globes in my collection and may not precisely match the industry standard sizes but they should be close.

There are no standardised names for these sizes in the industry so this is the nomenclature that I use.
